The AMF is the agency mandated by the Government of Québec to regulate financial markets and provide assistance to consumers. To be authorized to carry out activities related to giving advice or the sale of financial products, any advisor or firm must be registered with the AMF. Make sure your financial advisor is on the AMF’s list. The register is available at www.lautorite.qc.ca.
