TD Canada Trust acts as a trustee for all of our registered plans, and as such, the amounts held in cash from these accounts are protected by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC). As a result, all the money invested with us is immediately transferred to our trustee to settle the transactions. An independent financial advisor is an expert free of any conflict. It offers no in-house financial products and is free to recommend the solution that best suits its client. Whether the advisor’s remuneration is commission or fee, the investor does not have to pay a supplement because of this independence. Instead of the remuneration going in-house, it is simply redirected to the external, to the independent advisor.
